Prime Coat
Prime Coat atau Lapis Pengikat merupakan jenis Aspal Emulsi yang berfungsi sebagai pengikat antara permukaan jalan non aspal yang ada dengan permukaan lapisan aspal baru yang akan dilapis.
Permukaan jalan yang akan dilapis Prime Coat harus dibersihkan terlebih dahulu dari kotoran agar lapisan aspal yang baru nantinya bisa melekat dengan optimal dan sebaiknya permukaan jalan dalam keadaan agak lembab (ssd) untuk membantu peresapan Aspal Emulsi pada permukaan jalan.
Untuk hasil yang merata, penggunaan Asphalt Distributor atau Manual Hand Sprayer akan membantu mendapatkan hasil yang optimal.
Jenis Aspal Emulsi yang disarankan untuk aplikasi Prime Coat adalah yang sudah memakai standard ASTM / AASHTO / SNI yakni PCI, CSS-1 dan CMS-2.
